How Can I Make an Appointment or Request Information About a Tattoo?
To organize an appointment, we first need to review your project. Please submit a Booking Form through our website or send a direct email to hello@mariaftattoo.com. In your message, include the following information:
Tattoo idea and concept
Desired body area
Approximate size (in cm)
Reference images, if any
Once we receive your request, Maria will review it with the team and get back to you with an offer. After you accept the offer, a deposit is required to confirm your appointment. The deposit ensures we avoid no-shows, and once received, your appointment is officially confirmed. We will keep in touch with you during the entire process — from the initial design to the tattoo aftercare.
Free Video Consultation: If you'd like to discuss your tattoo in more detail before committing, you can also book a free video consultation.
How Much Does a Tattoo Cost?
The minimum price for a small tattoo with Maria is 400€. The final price of your tattoo depends on several factors, including design size, details, and complexity. To get an accurate quote, please fill out the Booking Form. We also offer a free video consultation if you need more details about pricing before committing.
What If I Don’t Like the Design?
Maria has an established style with a unique signature, and her clients generally love the designs she creates. However, we understand that preferences can vary. The design is shown to you on the day of the appointment, and we reserve time to discuss it and make any necessary adjustments. Please note, significant design changes are not possible at this stage, as the design reflects Maria’s style and expertise. If you choose to book with Maria, it’s important that you love her work and signature.
Is the Appointment I Confirmed the Final Tattoo Appointment?
Yes! The appointment you confirm is the actual session when the tattoo will be done. The appointment is divided into two parts:
Design Review: Maria will present the final design to you, discuss any last-minute adjustments, and make necessary changes.
Tattooing Session: The second part is the tattooing session itself, where we create your design on your skin.
When Will I See the Design?
Typically, the design is shown to you on the day of the appointment. The process is divided into two parts: design review and tattooing. This allows you to approve the design and make any minor adjustments before we begin the tattoo.
How Old Do I Have to Be to Get a Tattoo?
You must be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo.
Can I Get a Tattoo If I’m a Minor?
No, we do not tattoo minors, even with parental consent. Please wait until you turn 18.
Can I Get a Tattoo If I’m Pregnant?
It’s not advisable to get a tattoo during pregnancy. If you’re breastfeeding, please contact us for advice and more information about tattooing while breastfeeding.
Can I Use Anaesthetic Cream Before Getting a Tattoo?
We recommend against using anaesthetic creams before a tattoo. They can interfere with the tattoo process and healing. Tattooing can be an emotional and intense experience, and it’s important to be mindful of your body’s reaction. Rest assured, the artist will be there to ensure your comfort and safety throughout the session.
How Do I Prepare for My Appointment?
Please be on time for your appointment. We recommend eating well and staying hydrated before your session. Avoid drinking alcohol the day before. For full health guidelines, please check our Tattoo Care page before booking your tattoo.
Can I Move the Date of My Appointment?
Once your appointment is confirmed, you can move the date if you notify us at least 7 days before the scheduled date. You can only reschedule twice; after the second change, your appointment will be cancelled, and the deposit will not be refunded. In case of an unforeseen or serious event, we will do our best to support you.
Does It Hurt?
Tattooing is a physically intense experience, and it can hurt depending on your sensitivity and the tattoo area. The good news is, you're in the hands of a professional team who prioritize your comfort and safety at all times.
How Long Does a Tattoo Take to Heal?
It takes about 2-3 weeks for the surface of the skin to heal. However, the complete healing process may take several months. Please refer to our Tattoo Care instructions provided in store for detailed aftercare.
How Do I Take Care of My New Tattoo?
For the first three weeks, apply tattoo cream three times daily to help regenerate and hydrate your skin. Avoid sun exposure, swimming, or any activity that could cause infection during this period. After three weeks, continue taking care of the skin as usual. Follow up with us at the studio for a post-care check.
Can I Get a Tattoo in the Summer?
Yes, but during the healing period (3-4 weeks), avoid sunbathing or swimming, as this can affect the tattoo's healing process. If you have holidays planned that include sun exposure or swimming, consider scheduling your appointment accordingly. The artist will give you aftercare instructions specific to your tattoo.
What Forms of Payment Are Accepted?
Booking deposit: Bank transfer, PayPal.
At the studio after the appointment: Cash, Paypal.
Do I Need to Leave a Deposit to Schedule an Appointment?
Yes, a deposit is required to confirm your appointment. This is necessary to secure your spot and avoid no-shows.
Can I Ask to Change the Day of My Appointment After Confirmation?
You can change your appointment once, but please give us enough notice. We will do our best to accommodate your new date. If you change your appointment twice, your deposit will be forfeited, and the appointment will be cancelled.
Do You Retouch Tattoos Made by Other Artists?
No, Maria only retouches her own tattoos. After one month, if you think your tattoo needs a touch-up, please send us clear photos. The first touch-up is free of charge, but after the designated period, any revisions will incur additional costs.
Do You Work in Other Locations?
Yes, Maria works several times a year in New York and Stuttgart. You can register for the waiting list for these locations to get notified when appointments become available. Spots are limited, so joining the waiting list ensures you don't miss out.
